  1. Q: Is the unit compatible with SiriusXM?  A: Yes and no.  There are two compatibility options for XM stated ahead, please read both.  The XM is a satellite based provider, but also an overall listening experience.  To continue to hear your favorite channels, XM also has an app, which IS compatible with the MAXDin unit.
    1. The APP Option:This option allows you to hear all your music, but it must be used based on cellular service.  This means, either running the XM app on your phone, then streaming via apple carplay or android auto (via cellular signal).  To avoid using your phone, the MAXDin C6 Corvette Tesla style screen uses cellular 4g data sim cards, which will then allow you to use the XM app directly on the MAXDin.  Again though, this makes XM cellular only.
    2. The only satellite compatible option would be to run an external XM tuner then run the feed via an AUX line, to the MAX-Din unit.  Small micro receivers are made for side by sides, like Polaris.  We are testing compact units currently and will update ahead.
  2. Q:  Is the unit Onstar compatible?  A: No...as with most C6's, onstar is no longer active or functional.
  3. Q:  I have existing cameras installed in my car, will they work with MaxDin?  A:  The answer is likely yes.  MaxDin is AHD compatible and as long as your cameras use the typical A/V style connectors, then you'll be fine using your cameras.  MaxDin is going to be sold without cameras in 2024, in an attempt to reduce the retail pricing.  Cameras will then be added al a carte, for buyers needing them, but reducing costs for those who do not.
  4. Q:  I have a mix of audio components (stock or not) in my C6, will this be compatible?  A:  Yes, this unit will work with however your vehicle is configured.  All speakers driven through external amps, will use the preamp outputs.  All factory wired/configured/amp'd speakers will be fed by the main harness.  All configurations are supported by settings within the unit, so no worries there.  ALL UNITS SOLD are compatible with ALL configurations of Base/BOSE/Aftermarket.
  5. Q:  Can you recommend any amplifiers or audio components?  A:  No, this is something that an audio shop or Crutchfield can do for you.  I developed this unit as a lone, small company, to face the growing needs for HVAC system compatability.  These units are built to current standards, so like any audio unit on the market, it's compatible with whatever components you choose, that fit the C6.
  6. Q:  How are updates applied to the MaxDin and is there ongoing support for the unit?  A:  Updates are applied via a USB harddrive.  This means when you install your MaxDin, keeping the USB harness accessible is important to the ongoing function of your unit.  We advise you to put one USB connector in the glove box and one in the center console, during install.  This ensures access and allows you to have two places available for future add-ons, via USB.  For example, we are finishing development on a looping dash/cam system, that is USB driven and would use one of the two USB's (likely not the center console one)
    1. Updates for the system are also being provided on an ongoing basis.  KnightDriveTV is also releasing a C5 MaxDin, as well as a particular Cadillac model ahead.  The more units KDTV releases, the more this insures ongoing support for the main operating system, etc.  Additionally, my partner company who builds these units, builds many for other platforms, which means your unit will ALWAYS for the forseeable future, have updates available, until the hardware becomes obsolete or incompatible altogether, with whatever technology we are attempting to pair it with.
  7. Q.  I have a convertible or drive with the roof off all the time.  Will there be glare on the MaxDin?  A:  Glare is always an issue for any screen, and over the years technology has attempted (dating back to IBM's computers in offices), to mitigate or reduce glare.  Here are options you have with the MAXDin, which reduces that glare
    1. We have glare screen shields that reduce the shine, which in turn reduces the glare.  These are currently being finalized and will be available on the website by the end of Jan 2024.
    2. The brightness of the screen allows for MAX brightness in the daylight, while using the sun sensor in the dash and associated night modes to relax your eyes at night.  The MAX day brightness is helpful to combat the glare from overhead light.
    3. The MaxDin design has it set back into the dash, making the screen more vertical than a double din would be mounted into the factory position.  This makes the KnightDriveTV MAXDin more ideally positioned for glare, versus a double din.
    4. Using brighter, high contract colors for your daytime screen also helps, and the screen is also fully customizable.  We will have videos and how-to's posted on this ahead in the Q1 of 2024.  In the meantime, joining the KnightDriveTV Max-Din Support group on Facebook, is a great place to ask other owners and collab!
  8. Q:  Can I watch movies while I drive?  A:  Many have asked if they can play movies or have things viewable while driving.  This is USUALLY for passengers to potentially watch something (I hope).  Many aftermarket units have safety features built in, which require the emergency brake to be applied, for you to be able to view cameras, certain applications, etc.  This unit does NOT have those features, therefore it works however you want.  Be safe, and operate the unit wisely!
  9. Q:  Why do you require a signature during shipping?  What if I can't sign for it?  A:  Unfortunately, we live in an era of scammers and thieves.  Yes, even some who actually own C6 Corvettes have worked HARD to scam/steal from KDTV.  They do this a myriad of ways, and I won't outline a "how-to" on fraud here, but suffice to say, that a few things protect me from fraud and from financial loss.  These specific things are outlined by my insurance company, by UPS and by Shopify (I pay them all, to protect me/reimburse me and these costs are passed on to consumers).  Many things are required by me, how the product is packaged, what I require and what data your internet service provider gives us, at the time of purchase. IF YOU CALL ME DIRECTLY and explain your situation, as well as why you can't sign for this, I can make exceptions.  In order for me to make those exceptions, I will need additional information from you, etc.
  10. Q:  How long does the install take?  Who can install this for me?  A:  The install of the unit itself, is very quick.  This unit is make SPECIFICALLY for the C6 Corvette, therefore it installs as easily as your factory radio/hvac come out.  It's literally plug and play.  Installing cameras can take a bit longer, but still only 1-2hrs at best.  I outline in the installation video how to put this unit in, and how to route your cameras, so please take a look at that.  Any capable audio shop can install this unit, just please ADVISE THEM TO WATCH THE INSTALL VIDEO or they'll likely wire it wrong.  We have had 7 professional shops fry these units and 0 customer/self installers fry the unit.  WHY?  The PRO'S don't watch the video, then claim the screen won't light up, then "troubleshoot", then fry it.  Your warranty is VOID if an install shop modifies or self powers the unit, in ANY WAY.  When in doubt, have the shop CALL ME DIRECTLY.
